At Dr. Daphne I. Panagotacos, M.D Skin Care Centre in the Westlake Village area, patients can enjoy a number of cosmetic treatments from a skilled dermatologist. When patients visit for treatment for fine lines and wrinkles on the face, veiny hands, or poor facial contours, they may immediately think of dermal fillers. However, each dermal filler has its advantages, and when dealing with augmentation of the face and long-term results, many patients choose Radiesse injections.

Radiesse is a dermal filler quite different from Juvederm and others fillers. Juvederm is made of hyaluronic acid, which can quickly be absorbed back into the body and require regular injections to maintain the results. Radiesse, on the other hand, is made of calcium hydroxyapatite, or CaHa, which takes considerably longer for absorption into the body. Additionally, Radiesse can stimulate collagen production, which can also provide long-term results patients can enjoy for years.

Radiesse is ideal for correcting contours of the face, but it should not be used in many of the same areas as Juvederm, such as the lips or around the eyes. Radiesse is a thicker substance that is better for moderate to severe folds instead of delicate, smaller lines and wrinkles of the face. Patients who have both concerns may combine treatments, using Juvederm for fine lines and Radiesse for augmentation and deep folds. Patients can use both Radiesse and Juvederm for a complete “liquid face lift.”

There are very few side effects of Radiesse. Some patients may notice redness, swelling, and bruising at the injection site for a few days after their treatment. Patients should keep the area clean to allow it to heal appropriately, avoiding contact with the area approximately two days afterwards to avoid migration of the injectable to other areas of the face or hands. Swelling can be addressed by applying ice.

Patients living in the Westlake Village area who are considering the advantages of Radiesse and other dermal fillers and injectables available from Dr. Panagotacos can contact her practice today to schedule a consultation visit. During this time, patients have a complete evaluation and a medical history check to determine if they are viable candidates for this specific injectable.

Rating:
Have been going to Dr. Panagotacos for years and she is always on top of her game. Watches me like a hawk and catches any new possible melanomas I might have. Also when making those cuts they heal beautifully and hardly leave a mark. The office is beautiful and very friendly and almost always on time with their appointments.
